The primary technology for IronWolf’s products was developed by our founder, Larry Beller. In the early 1980’s, Larry was a heavy equipment operator in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, where he was confronted with the challenges of permafrost.
Dynamite and a battalion of heavy equipment were the standard tools needed to cut through the permafrost and frozen gravel for drilling site preparation. |
Larry realized the need for an easier way to excavate and rip the permafrost. Through his innovation, he developed the first Crusher in 1985. The prototype cut through the permafrost, provided a suitable soil mix and exceeded Larry’s expectations.
